Greenpoint Beer and Ale is reopening this spring, Northern Territory is not
We mentioned back in the fall that Greenpoint Beer and Ale and Northern Territory were set to be demolished for generic office space. Since then, Greenpoint Beer and Ale has shuttered but will happily be reopening this spring at 1150 Manhattan Avenue. No date has been announced, but their colorful beer tower has arrived.
Northern Territory had initially hoped to reopen in its current location for one final summer, but Greenpointers reports that their plans have changed:
This past November, we announced that Northern Territory would be hibernating for the winter and planned to reopen this Spring (as in now) for their final year at the corner of Franklin and Meserole Avenue before the building is razed for new development. Sadly, Nothern Territory will remain officially closed. Why the sudden change of plans? Even though their lease is up at the end of the year, Northern Territory “came to an agreement with the new landlord” to be out in a few months and make way for the seven-story office and manufacturing building that is slated to be built.
Their owner is looking for spaces in Williamsburg and Greenpoint and hopes to open elsewhere in 2020.
