If you are dying for Mexican food in NYC you could do worse then Rosa Mexicana. Of course, you could do better, but, that only happened in more recent years, like the last 7.
As a former Californian from San Diego, Rosa Mexicana does help me feel at home with with a menu that nicely covers all the traditional dishes. Most of these dishes feature some sort of small signature twist, but, for the most part they satisfy.
They put a lot into their quacamole cart, which is kind of funny but it’s a New York thing to consider quacamole a key feature in Mexican cuisine.
To their credit, they do have some extremely good and well made signature mole’s which set them apart and put them in a higher category city wide.
