I’d rather have Andrew Cuomo than some other….

Back in August, this blog reported, exactly and with examples, how Dr. Zucker, the state medical advisor, under Andrew Cuomo, was responsible for death rates in nursing homes. At the time we were upset that Dr. Zucker sat along side Mr. Cuomo in news conferences accepting his role and watching as Andrew pontificated and basked in the sun of relevance. I hope everyone at the podium really understood the reason this was happening, if not, it’s unreal.

At the time we could not resolve how Dr. Zucker could not know or understand the cycle of care in geriatrics whereby acute cases in nursing homes are transported to acute care hospitals, receive care in beds of COVID concentration, and are then transported back to nursing homes there after. This is KNOWN! This is Masters in Public Health 101!

So this article isn’t about revisiting that past. It’s about Andrew Cuomo. After a lot of historical searches, sole searching and direct life experience in NYC and the state, we are here to defend Andrew Cuomo. Why? Because looking past the more recent poorly delivered and self promoting COVID thing, Andrew Cuomo maybe about the only politician we love. The guy has done more for the people of this state then any politician has done for any state in the Union. As a career public servant, he fits the definition, He’s on it, as history shows, or at least he he used to be.

So outside of his recent aspirations to become an “influencer” or to promote his daughter in the hopes she will enter politics, or that he hustled to boost the “relevance” token, he’s not the worst! History would suggest he cares a lot. We need to loo past the mid life crisis and hope it doesn’t impair his judgement or behavior.

Summary: We need to consider giving him a pass if he promises to calm the hell down and be who he was. If he can’t, we’ll, we can’t. We believe we’d be throwing this baby out with the bath water if we sat by and accepted the events that are being reported about him now as true before they are proven in fact. Of course, fact and truth in the US has now become some personal/individual thing where both are manipulated in our courts to the extend they no longer exist. That is yet another blog post for another time.
