In NYC, if you wanted Vietnamese you had to make your way down to the fringes of Chinatown. You know, like over near the courthouse and Baxter st. If not there you could find a restaurant or two over on Forsyth. That was until about 4 years ago when Cha Pa came opened in mid-town.
Cha Pa is excellent for a couple reasons. They have many of the popular dishes you find commonly in Vietnamese restaurants, their restaurant is clean and inviting and best of all it’s in midtown so you don’t need to hoof it to Canal or wherever.
Ideas for your visit:
– The pho is great, you can’t miss (chicken/pork/beef)
– The Bah Mi sandwiches are perfect. Getting a good Bah Mi in NYC is actually difficult, go here!
– If you are having dinner, I highly recommend having a pot of one of many unique teas. This is one of the best kept secrets
