Here’s What’s Happening at Community Board 3 This Month

The future of East River Park, more bar battles, Mount Sinai’s plans for Rivington House — just a few of the topics on Community Board 3’s March agenda.

–Tomorrow night, March 6, there will an update from the Lower East Side Partnership about its “District Boundary Expansion” at a meeting of the Economic Development Committee.

–On Thursday, March 7, the Health & Human Services Committee will take up Mount Sinai/Beth Israel’s takeover of the former Rivington House nursing home building.

–On Monday March 11, the State Liquor Authority Committee will review several applications, including plans for multiple liquor permits at the still-under-construction Allen Street Hotel.

–The Transportation Committee will hear a proposal March 12 from the city’s Office of Nightlife and the LES Partnership on, “Nightlife Quality of Life Mitigation strategies,” including proposed parking regulation changes.

–At the Land Use Committee March 13, there will be updates on the mayor’s proposed Chinatown mega-jail and the proposed community-led rezoning of the Two Bridges neighborhood.

–On March 14, the Parks Committee will revisit the city’s controversial revised plans for an East River flood wall and hear about Dock NYC’s plans for Pier 36.

–In another meeting of the liquor licensing committee on March 18, Epstein’s Bar will seek support for a sidewalk cafe and Hwa Yuan, the fancy Chinese restaurant on East Broadway, will take another run at a full liquor license.

–On March 25, the Baruch Bathhouse Task Force will meet.
